I spent Labor Day weekend at a 4 day agility trial in Eugene, and ran into little Newton .. I've been doing his portraits monthly since he was little(r) ... here's his 6mo portrait :)

and got to test out my new agility signs with Newton's dad .. Renfrew

And shot a lot of dogs racing over the obsticles

Monday I had the pleasure of shooting the lovely Samantha's senior pictures. We went to one of my favorite parks ... Crystal Springs Rhodendron Garden in SE Portland. This park is full of waterfalls, ponds, water fowl, beautiful stone paths & walls, and in May-June, very colorful too.

I have my new booth set up at the NADAC Agility Trial in Ridgefield this weekend. We are in the Horse Barn of the Clark County Fairgrounds.

There is no sitting fee for portraits & headshots for both humans and dogs, so stop on by and save some $$

I am looking for 5 or more dogs of the same breed to give a free portrait too. I want to create a Christmas Portrait, envision alot of dogs for this portrait. We will shoot in my studio, either on all white, all red, or all black (depending on your dogs).

Your dogs must be obedient, they must be able to sit or lay down on command, and stay there :)

All breeds considered, what do you have?

I will give you your choice of two hi-resolution images (so you may make unlimited prints) from the proofs.

Can't make it the 19th? Email us and we can do your session in studio during the week prior, Sunday the 20th, or at one of the following locations (by appointment only). Eugene AKC Agility Sep 3-6 or Ridgefield NADAQ Agility Sep 12-13. You may have noticed that my website has some serious issues.

Long story short, I paid someone to build me a website, I wanted an html site that looked similar to a flash site.

Well, this began back in June, mid-July he sends me a site, then tells me I would need to change the code on every pic I uploaded, well, I told him he promised a simple drag & drop template, and that is what I paid for ... ha

the contact link was supposed to send me your emails ... never got a single one

editing text is a joke, along with adding new pictures ... I'd need to take web building code class to keep up, and even then, I'm a photographer, not a designer, that is why I paid someone to build it.

Long story short, the new site is falling apart, and I can't get the old site back up, I must call my site host this week to help me get the old one up, until then not much works, but you can get to your proof galleries & my blog, so not all is lost yet.

The worst part, is before all of this began, I was at the top of the first page of all the search engines, now you can't find me on any of the search engines :(

I'm still waiting for the guy to fix things, if he hasn't satisfied me the time I return from my next trial, I'd be happy to spam his name here & everywhere along with what crappy product he sells.

I tried disputing my payment to him with paypal, but too much time has passed, so I'm out the $$ for the site :( I should have just purchased a fancy flash site, lesson learned

somewhere mid-august, I found the time to shoot a fashion show. I was actually shooting Agility during the day Sat & Sun, and headed downtown for the show Sat night :) I really haven't gotten to those edits yet, the designers always take a while to order thier images, but here are a couple :)

After we left Trillium Lake, we went over Mt. Hood, and turned onto Hwy 216 to 197 to The Dalles. Years ago, I'd taken part of this route (from The Dalles to Tygh Valley) during a snowstorm, and had promised myself I'd come back, as there are tons of old barns along this route.

Funny thing is, all the barns pictured were on 216, I think we only found one on 197, not sure if I missed them, or they all fell down :)

August 25th was my hubby's birthday. My daughter & I finally took his ashes to Mt. Hood, as we've neglected this task for a couple of years now.

It was a beautiful day, we could not have asked for a more picture perfect day, Trillium Lake was perfect, and we found a seclueded spot away from the public areas to say goodbye to Jim.

Senior Portrait season is beginning, the seniors are calling, and we're shooting all over town.

Today, the lovely Tessa stopped by for an industrial location shoot, 1/2 we did within a block of my studio, then we headed to NW to the grafitti wall. The local businessess must have painted over their building, in past years, this is about 1000' wall of grafitti, now there were only a few pieces of art, I'm sure the artists will eventually re-cover the wall to it's old glory :)

Today I got to work with a new makeup artist, Kelly Cherry, we've met over the years, but had never had the pleasure of shooting together, she did both the girls

my favorite muse, Marissa came in to do some boudoir images for a special someone. I've known her for 6 years, and have watched her grow up.

Then a local agency model, Femi stopped by to update her portfolio, can you belive she just had a baby a few months ago?

Today began with a lovely senior, Mollie

Then the day ended with a successful benefit fashion show "For Alec". Alec is an adorable 2yr old fighting brain cancer. This is a disease that has affected me closely. Over the past two years, I've lost two neighbors, my hubby and a dear friend to different forms of brain cancers, so being able to document this event meant alot to me.

Then Emily arrived, so, once Aimee had finished her makeup, I paired them up for a steamy editorial

today started with another senior, his mom, his friend & his cute puppy

This afternoon was the Grand Opening of my new studio, we had hundreds of visitors throughout the day, including clients, photographers, models, agents & fashionistas, it was great to see everyone

why a two part entry for today? Well, because it was a long day.

First off, an extra special THANKS to Aimee JAdore, a fabulous makeup up artist, without whom, the following would never have happened :)

We spent the afternoon & early evening producing a number of amazing fashion images for Saffrona Evening Wear, Bon-Lou Coture and Nora Catherine Jewelry

We had 3 lovely ladies: Junia, Virginia & Sage, plus an awesome accessory named Cupid (you may recognize him from many local & national ads with Fred Meyer, Addidas & Nike to name a few)

While Aimee was creating her magic with the ladies, I got to play with Cupid (now, now, minds out of the gutter LOL) I shot his new set of polaroids and some physique shots for him

First out of the makeup chair & into some designer duds was the exotic beauty, Junia, this lady just got signed with a huge agency in Seattle, and will definately be going far with her modeling career

Aimee discovered Virginia, what a talented lady with an exquisite look

And then there's the lovely Sage ... what more can I say than she's my kiddo (really she is!!)

Remember I said that Cupid was the accessory for this shoot?

Not every shoot do I have permission to talk about or show images from, as I do respect my client's privacy.

Today started out at 9am, with one of the above mentioned shoots. Following the private session, the lovely Inez came in for some glamour shots for V.Day. Every so often you come up with an awesome blend of colors that are just perfect. The wall behind her is actually bright gold/yellow, as you can see in Tiffany & Whitnee's photos below. Today I got very creative with my lighting, or, really didn't allow any light to hit the wall, and the results were perfect

Today I had 3 models come into the studio to update their portfolios, it always amazes me how talented our local models are, and how lucky I am to help them update their portfolios every year.

We started off with Aimee, who asked if I'd do some spicey shots for her sweetie

I finished up my day with the always creative Brandy, last time we shot, it was classic pinup, this time ...

WOW is all I can say, and for someone who has shot hundreds, if not thousands of people over the years, WOW is quite a compliment from me. Corinne contacted me wanting to update her portfolio, we had some long conversations planning our shoot, both of us excited to try some new things and play with some fresh ideas. For me, parts of this shoot were an adventure into styles that I don't normally do, and thanks to the assistance of Don, we created some magic images

well, better late than never, I'm finally joining the bloggers!

I guess I'll start at the beginning of my new life, I'll try to keep this in one paragraph :)

Mar 07, my hubby of 19yrs passed from Primary CNS Lymphoma (brain tumors), this tragedy spurred me to leap from part time professional photographer to full time. In the fall of 08 I separated from my full time day job, taking that leap of faith ... well, within weeks of the separation, the economy began to tank ... yep, great timing!! Dec 08 we finally moved into our new 2000 sq ft studio near OMSI & I was looking forward to a great family/holiday portrait season in my new studio, then Portland had 2 weeks of snow in the weeks preceeding Christmas, yep, tons of cancellations ... oh well, that's life

09 is beginning slowly, but with Valentine's Day around the corner, I find myself busy with Boudoir sessions and a few other shoots ... now here we are, at my new blog
