Eugene AKC Agility
I spent Labor Day weekend at a 4 day agility trial in Eugene, and ran into little Newton .. I've been doing his portraits monthly since he was little(r) ... here's his 6mo portrait :)

Monday I had the pleasure of shooting the lovely Samantha's senior pictures. We went to one of my favorite parks ... Crystal Springs Rhodendron Garden in SE Portland. This park is full of waterfalls, ponds, water fowl, beautiful stone paths & walls, and in May-June, very colorful too.

No Sitting Fee Portrait Booth
I have my new booth set up at the NADAC Agility Trial in Ridgefield this weekend. We are in the Horse Barn of the Clark County Fairgrounds.
There is no sitting fee for portraits & headshots for both humans and dogs, so stop on by and save some $$

Do you have a LOT of dogs?
I am looking for 5 or more dogs of the same breed to give a free portrait too. I want to create a Christmas Portrait, envision alot of dogs for this portrait. We will shoot in my studio, either on all white, all red, or all black (depending on your dogs).
Your dogs must be obedient, they must be able to sit or lay down on command, and stay there :)
All breeds considered, what do you have?
I will give you your choice of two hi-resolution images (so you may make unlimited prints) from the proofs.

the holidays are right around the corner
Avoid the rush, book now to have us come to your home, when your family will be there, this includes Thanksgiving Day (or over the weekend), Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. There are only two time slots available on each of these holidays, so book your time now, before the slots are gone.
Why have us come to you? Your family will all be there, it is the best time to catch up on the generations portraits. We will bring our professional studio, do the whole family, plus the sub-families, individuals, the grand kids, and any other groupings you want.

50% of all Portrait sessions will go directly to Dove Lewis. Bring your checkbook & write one check out to Dove Lewis for your tax deductable donation, and the other check for your portraits.
Can't make it the 19th? Email us and we can do your session in studio during the week prior, Sunday the 20th, or at one of the following locations (by appointment only). My website
You may have noticed that my website has some serious issues.
Long story short, I paid someone to build me a website, I wanted an html site that looked similar to a flash site.
Well, this began back in June, mid-July he sends me a site, then tells me I would need to change the code on every pic I uploaded, well, I told him he promised a simple drag & drop template, and that is what I paid for ... ha
the contact link was supposed to send me your emails ... never got a single one
editing text is a joke, along with adding new pictures ... I'd need to take web building code class to keep up, and even then, I'm a photographer, not a designer, that is why I paid someone to build it.
Long story short, the new site is falling apart, and I can't get the old site back up, I must call my site host this week to help me get the old one up, until then not much works, but you can get to your proof galleries & my blog, so not all is lost yet.
The worst part, is before all of this began, I was at the top of the first page of all the search engines, now you can't find me on any of the search engines :(
I'm still waiting for the guy to fix things, if he hasn't satisfied me the time I return from my next trial, I'd be happy to spam his name here & everywhere along with what crappy product he sells.
I tried disputing my payment to him with paypal, but too much time has passed, so I'm out the $$ for the site :( I should have just purchased a fancy flash site, lesson learned

fashion show
somewhere mid-august, I found the time to shoot a fashion show. I was actually shooting Agility during the day Sat & Sun, and headed downtown for the show Sat night :) I really haven't gotten to those edits yet, the designers always take a while to order thier images, but here are a couple :)
scenic travels
After we left Trillium Lake, we went over Mt. Hood, and turned onto Hwy 216 to 197 to The Dalles. Years ago, I'd taken part of this route (from The Dalles to Tygh Valley) during a snowstorm, and had promised myself I'd come back, as there are tons of old barns along this route.
Funny thing is, all the barns pictured were on 216, I think we only found one on 197, not sure if I missed them, or they all fell down :)

My Hubby
August 25th was my hubby's birthday. My daughter & I finally took his ashes to Mt. Hood, as we've neglected this task for a couple of years now.
It was a beautiful day, we could not have asked for a more picture perfect day, Trillium Lake was perfect, and we found a seclueded spot away from the public areas to say goodbye to Jim.

Senior Portrait season is beginning, the seniors are calling, and we're shooting all over town.
Today, the lovely Tessa stopped by for an industrial location shoot, 1/2 we did within a block of my studio, then we headed to NW to the grafitti wall. The local businessess must have painted over their building, in past years, this is about 1000' wall of grafitti, now there were only a few pieces of art, I'm sure the artists will eventually re-cover the wall to it's old glory :)

Today I got to work with a new makeup artist, Kelly Cherry, we've met over the years, but had never had the pleasure of shooting together, she did both the girls
my favorite muse, Marissa came in to do some boudoir images for a special someone. I've known her for 6 years, and have watched her grow up.
Then a local agency model, Femi stopped by to update her portfolio, can you belive she just had a baby a few months ago?

Today began with a lovely senior, Mollie
Then the day ended with a successful benefit fashion show "For Alec". Alec is an adorable 2yr old fighting brain cancer. This is a disease that has affected me closely. Over the past two years, I've lost two neighbors, my hubby and a dear friend to different forms of brain cancers, so being able to document this event meant alot to me.

Some days you just know why you got into photography. Today was one of those days. I was invited up to Closson Grey Dandies to shoot their new litter of Dandie Dinmont Terriers ... just tooooooo cute
